Gabie comes to Elevate with a passion for sustainable development and gender equality. Prior to joining Elevate, Gabie completed a number of internships both in the nonprofit and private sector in the DC area. Her most recent position with The Advisory Board Company, provided support to combine research, technology, and consulting to improve over 3,000 hospitals and healthcare networks across the globe. She also worked as a Gender-Based Violence Research Intern with Women Empowerment Link, a grassroots organization in Nairobi, Kenya. There, Gabie focused on developing action-plans for survivors of Gender-Based Violence in Kenyan communities. She also spearheaded the drafting of a grant proposal for Women Empowerment Link that aimed to increase male participation in the eradication of Gender-Based Violence in Kenyan communities.
Gabie is a recent graduate from American University, receiving a double BA in International Service and Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies. During her time at AU, she focused on the intersection of Gender and Development in Sub-Saharan Africa and researched effective tools to properly integrate women into economic and social spheres. Active in her campus community, Gabie was a recipient of the Eagle Involvement Award and the Founder’s Senior Excellence Award, one of the highest university campus awards granted to undergraduate students.
Outside the world of writing, you can most likely find Gabie at her spin studio where she teaches cycling.
