Jim comes to Elevate with a wealth of development and nonprofit management experience in New York City, Atlanta, GA, and Fairfield County, Connecticut. He enjoys working with various nonprofit organizations and causes, including human services, education, and the arts. He has always specialized in grant writing but has a wealth of experience in development, including major gifts and special events. A highlight of Jim’s career came when he secured the largest single grant in the history of Safe Horizon, where he served as Vice President for Government & Foundation Relations.
Having grown up with horses and dogs in North Georgia, Jim is a lifelong animal lover. He is also passionate about history, music, and the decorative arts. As a child, he spent countless hours reading or practicing the piano while his friends played baseball and soccer. Jim holds a bachelor’s degree in Russian from Emory University. He and his partner, Rafael, live in New York with their Pembroke Welsh corgi, Isobel.
Jim can talk endlessly about the different types of black tea after becoming obsessed with the subject.

Curled up on the sofa watching mysteries.
